Hello! I am the Amateur and the busy Mom of 3 kids — 2 teenagers and a young adult with special needs. My husband is a Physics Professor and our resident homework helper. (So thankful for that!!) And the final, but most beloved member of our household is our 5 year old Sheepadoodle named Cash Register. I expect you will have the opportunity to see pictures and hear about the antics of the “Doodle”. Just this morning, while the mini Amateur was running back into the house – with no shoes on– to get a forgotten item for school, the Dood stole her bagel, which had been left unattended in the car, and scarfed the whole thing down in one giant gulp. This was after yelling at the neighbors dog and running face first into the door in uncontrollable excitement to get in the car.
Silly Doodle!
I’ve been a SAHM since shortly after my first son was born. I started baking for friends over a decade ago and this grew into a small cottage bakery that I operated out of my home for several years. I loved making beautiful and delicious cakes and cookies for people’s happiest occasions, dabbling in creating new flavor combinations, and selling at markets but it just got to be too much and I walked away.
To quote Ferris Bueller “Life moves pretty fast” and I don’t want to miss any of it!
I enjoy cooking and baking, household and craft projects, and experiencing crazy adventures during any given day. I want to be a part of everything with my kids so this means orchestra, band, piano, soccer, cross country, track, bowling, special Olympics, art contests, Honor Society, Church youth group, camps……… I drive tons of miles everyday and go nowhere!! But I wouldn’t change it. (Except for maybe those miles to take my kids the things they forgot).
