Apple Crisp

This warm, gooey apple goodness will make your campers' night!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 bags 32 oz apple slices
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 2 cups sugar
  • cup cinnamon
  • 2 cups AP flour
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 4 sticks cold unsalted butter
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 4 cups old fashioned oats

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • Distribute bags of apples into 2 greased full steam pans. Pour orange juice evenly over the apples.
  • In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over the apples.
  • In a large bowl mix flour and brown sugar. Cut in 4 sticks of butter until crumbly. Stir in salt and oats. Spread oat topping evenly over the apples in the pans and pat down.
  • Bake for about 30 minutes until bubbly and the top is crunchy. Serve with 2 x 5 quart pails of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

This is a delicious and easy dessert that can be baked while the campers are enjoying their dinner. The smell alone will be enough to make them line up for a bowl of this warm, gooey delight!
